Competition: Design a Macaron Stencil for The Queens Hotel, Portsmouth

Create a design for a special Portsmouth 100 afternoon tea at The Queens Hotel

The Queens Hotel, Portsmouth is inviting students from the University of Portsmouth’s Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries to take part in a live design brief as part of their Portsmouth 100 celebrations.

This is an exciting opportunity to create a stencil design that will be used on macarons served as part of the hotel’s afternoon tea offering, helping celebrate the city in a creative and memorable way.

The winning student will have the chance to work with The Queens Hotel’s Pastry Chef, see their design brought to life, and enjoy a fantastic prize.

The winning entry will receive:

a £50 Amazon voucher
a special afternoon tea for two at The Queens Hotel
the opportunity to collaborate with The Queens Hotel’s Pastry Chef
the chance to take part in the creative process and see the final stencil in use

What you need to include:

Your design will need to include or be an interpretation of the Portsmouth crest

It should be a celebration of Portsmouth 100 and a thoughtful tribute to the city

The size of your design will need to be 4cm in diameter, to fit a 5cm macaron

As the stencil will be laser cut, you will need to submit your entry as a DXF, PDF or Illustrator file, along with a 2-3 sentence paragraph on your inspiration behind the design
