Trailblazing mathematician, computer scientist and social entrepreneur
Anne-Marie Imafidon’s achievements span academia, industry and public life.
At just 11, she became the youngest girl ever to pass A level Computing, later earning a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford at 20.
Her career has included roles at Goldman Sachs, Hewlett-Packard and Deutsche Bank, alongside numerous honorary doctorates and an Honorary Fellowship at Keble College, Oxford.
Anne-Marie has held several influential leadership positions, including Chair of the Institute for the Future of Work and UD Music Foundation, member of the Council of Research England, President of the British Science Association, Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University, and Women in Tech Envoy for the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
She is also widely recognised as co-founder of Stemettes, the award-winning social enterprise that has inspired over 70,000 young people across Europe to pursue STEM – subjects in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – helping drive greater diversity and inclusion in those fields. Her services to young women and STEM earned her an MBE in 2017.
