I wasn’t expecting to go through Clearing... when I got my place I was relieved.
Guy applied through Clearing when he didn't get an offer for his firm-choice course...
I wasn't accepted by my firm-choice university as I didn’t receive the grades I expected. On results day I was feeling very disappointed. My teachers and family encouraged me not to worry. They helped me look into Clearing and what was available to me.
I had no idea what to expect or what the process entailed prior to Clearing. I wasn’t expecting to go through Clearing so had never looked at it. Friends who were studying at Portsmouth encouraged me to look into it.

The live chat feature on the website helped to reduce the stress I felt over calling.

The live chat feature on the website helped to reduce the stress I felt over calling. After browsing the website and considering the course I would be interested in, I decided to give the Clearing number a call.
My biggest worry was that I wouldn’t be accepted anywhere or there would be no spaces left. So when I received my place at Portsmouth I felt relieved.
My advice for others going through Clearing is not to worry. Just because your plans have changed it isn’t the end of the world. You’ll probably end up enjoying it far more than you would have ever imagined.
I was disappointed on results day but I received plenty of advice and encouragement that I’d find a place through Clearing. When I got my place I was relieved as I worried that I wouldn’t get in anywhere. It will be okay!
