Join us online to find how psychologists are treating anxiety
Discover the latest insights into anxiety and how we can treat it.
Anxiety is an important part of healthy everyday life. However, an increasing number of people regularly experience excessive levels of anxiety. In the United Kingdom, anxiety disorders affect an estimated 7.6% of the population at any one time and have an annual economic impact of around £75bn.
Long term analyses suggest that the problem is only getting worse and that new models of anxiety are urgently required. To address this, recent scientific advances have consolidated findings across multiple perspectives, including neuroscientific markers of anxiety in the brain, enhanced psychometric assessment tools, and ecologically designed behavioural assessments, in order to provide more holistic and effective accounts of anxiety.
In this talk, we will discuss how the latest insights from brain, behaviour and personality science are leading the way to a better understanding of anxiety and how to more effectively anticipate, diagnose, and treat anxiety.
