Extenuating Circumstances
If personal circumstances mean that you are unable to complete referral or deferral assessment on time, you may wish to consider submitting an Extenuating Circumstances (EC) Claim. Visit the Extenuating Circumstances webpage for more information.
The referral/deferral period ends on Friday 22 July 2022, and the deadline for submitting an EC Claim is the following Friday, the 29 July 2022.
Valid Extenuating Circumstances for a referred or deferred assessment will not provide you with an extension for coursework, or a further opportunity to sit an exam. However, the Board will take the Extenuating Circumstances into account when looking at results, and you may be given a deferred repeat in the module, normally in the next academic year. Please note that this will prevent progression to the next level of your course/delay an exit award.
