I am a permanent resident and passport holder of Ghana, Kenya, or Türkiye. *

I do not hold dual British Citizenship. *

(*): Relatives are defined as parents or stepparents, siblings or stepsiblings, children or stepchildren, spouse, civil partner or unmarried partner (where the couple have been in a relationship akin to marriage or civil partnership for at least two years).

I am not an employee, a former employee, or relative(*) of an employee of His Majesty’s Government (including British Embassies/High Commissions; the Department for Business and Trade; the Ministry of Defence; and the Home Office). *

(*): Employees and former employees include non-staff members contracted by the British Council as freelancers/trainers.

I have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK (i.e. in the last five years). *

I am working in or directly with the government education sector in Ghana, Kenya, or Turkey, with a focus on English language teaching. *

I have at least two-years’ teaching experience. *

I agree to my personal data being shared with the British Council as a condition of applying for the scholarship. *

If granted a scholarship, I agree to participate fully in British Council monitoring and evaluation of the scholarship programme. *

If granted a scholarship, I agree to be an active member of the British Council’s global alumni network, maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the UK during and after my studies at the University of Portsmouth. *

I have received an offer for the MA TESOL (Distance Learning). *

If my application is successful, I agree to my data, photographs, videos, recordings and quotations being used for marketing purposes, including websites, electronic publications and social media services worldwide, and for the University of Portsmouth to subsequently pass these to the British Council so that the British Council can pass the data, photographs, videos, recordings and quotations to external press and media agencies.
