Any offer of the VIP Open Day Experience is subject to the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. The promoter is: University of Portsmouth whose registered office is at University House, Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth PO1 2UP.
  2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom except for employees and contractors of the promoter and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  3. There will be two separate prizes for this competition. Winners will be chosen at random by prize draw and there will be two winners.
  4. One winner will be selected on Monday 13th May 2024 (for entrants who sign up at events between the 18th March 2024 and Sunday 12th May 2024).
  5. One winner will be selected on Monday 8th July 2024 (for entrants who sign up at events between Monday 13th May 2024 and Sunday 7th July 2024).
  6. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  7. By entering this competition, the entrant indicates their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  8. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  9. The University of Portsmouth accepts no responsibility for any technical issues or problems, including but not limited to any problems with the entry form, computer systems, servers, or software. The University of Portsmouth is not responsible for any lost, delayed, incomplete, or misdirected entries.
  10.  To be eligible to participate in the prize draw, the rules of the competition and route to entry are as follows:
    1. Entrants must complete our marketing interest form or postcard at a school/college event that the University of Portsmouth Recruitment Team attend between Monday 18th March 2024 and Sunday 7th July 2024. Entries received after 7th July 2024 will not be considered.
    2. Entrants must be in school years 12 or 13 (or college equivalent).
  11.  The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control.
  12.  Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  13.  The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  14.  The prize is a VIP Open Day experience at one of the University of Portsmouth’s Open Days held in 2024. This includes:
    1. Winners that live over 30 miles away from University House, University of Portsmouth, PO1 2UP will also receive a one night stay in a twin room at a hotel chosen by the University of Portsmouth for the night before the Open Day.
    2. A “One4All” restaurant voucher worth £60.
    3. Travel expenses up to a maximum of £100 will also be paid to the winner and will be provided after they attend the open day.
  15. Where possible, the winner will be able to choose which Open Day date to attend in 2024. However, this is subject to availability and we therefore reserve the right to specify that the winner attends an alternative Open Day in 2024 if there is no availability on their chosen date.
  16.  The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable. The prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value.
  17.  Winners will be chosen by random sampling software from all entries received during the eligibility window, and verified by the promoter and/or its agents.
  18.  The promoter will contact the winners through the email address they used to enter.
  19.  If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within five days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  20.  The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected/is delivered.
  21.  The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  22.  The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  23.  The winner agrees to the use of their name in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  24.  The winner’s name will be available 28 days after the competition closing date by writing to the following address: Marketing, Advancement and Communications Department, University of Portsmouth, University House, Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth PO1 2UP.
  25.  Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
