Biography

I have been involved in the delivery of professional education since 2006, following a successful career in the NHS. During my time at the University of Portsmouth I have held several positions including Placement, Year and Clinical Lead roles, allowing me to establish a proven track record in effective curriculum design and quality assurance in Higher Education.  My knowledge in this area is recognised my current positions as an Education Associate for the General Dental Council and as an educational Peer Reviewer.

My Doctoral Thesis focussed on reflective practice, mentorship and the development of Communities of Practice, attributes which are now encompassed within my current role as the Academic Practice Lead in the School of Education and Sociology, where I am Course Leader for the Academic Professional Apprenticeship and associated Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, which is the preferred development pathway for all early career teaching staff at the Univserity of Portsmouth.
