Summary

Over fifteen years’ experience teaching in Business Schools, managing courses and organising pastoral and academic support for students. Work in universities (London South Bank University, the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Portsmouth) is underpinned by almost twenty years in the private sector with a commercial background in marketing and project management.

Professional Memberships: As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), Member of the Association for Project Management (APM), Member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Member of the British Computer Society (BCS) and a Member of the Institute of Leadership (IoL) I am professionally active outside of my work within the university.

Education and Research: A degree in Business Studies, a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) and an MBA is complemented by PRINCE2 Practitioner and Agile Practitioner qualifications along with the APM's PMQ as well a coaching qualification. As an active researcher I have published in the areas of pedagogy, personal tutoring and cross-cultural management.

Quality Process Experience: Quality process experience includes participation in twelve different internal validations in two universities and External Examiner experience at: University of West of Scotland, University of Bolton, University of Winchester and University of Plymouth. Currently an External Examiner for the University of Derby and the University of Cumbria.

Current teaching and Course Management: As Course Leader for the MSc Project Management I have oversight of the course and am responsible for its management and quality. Other responsibilities include module leadership for the Masters module People, Management and Risk along with L6 Project Management for Enterprise. In addition, I teach on the Masters module Managing Programmes and Portfolios and L4 Project Management and Scheduling and I am a personal tutor on the MSc Project Management programme.
