Biography
Stephen is a Senior Lecturer in Computational Sound with a background in 20th Century Classical Music, electroacoustic music composition and software engineering. He is both an active composer and audio software developer. He holds a PhD in electroacoustic composition and audio software development from the University of Sheffied (2017) supervised by Professor Adrian Moore.
Stephen is the primary software engineer of "Compose With Sounds", a cross-platform pedagogical audio workstation. This software package was created in collaboration with institutions, creative practitioners and pedagogs across Europe. Notable institutions include INA-GRM (Paris, France), Notam (Oslo, Norway), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany), Miso Music (Lisbon, Portugal), De Montefort University (Leicester, United Kingdom). Workshops and concerts using the software have been held across Europe and China.
