My academic career was preceded by extensive HRM and HRD management and consultancy experience in a range of different public and private sector organisations. I have a national and international profile amongst both academic and practitioner networks in the field of HRD and Research Methods. I am a committed researcher-practitioner. I am a co-leader of the Faculty of Business and Law Business Education Research Group (BERG). BERG engages in interdisciplinary research and evidence-based practice relating with excellence in Business Education within the University, with academic professionals in other HEIs and with employers. I am course director of the Doctorate in Business Administration Programme and academic lead for the Integrated Doctorate within the Faculty of Business and Law.
I am proud to be Chair of the Research Activities Committee for the University Forum for Human Resource Development (UFHRD) and in 2016 will become Joint Editor-in-Chief for the leading HRD journal, Human Resource Development Quarterly.
