Repeating Patterns Online Activity

Welcome to Fashion and Textile Design. This course gives students a chance to make their mark on the fashion world and unleash their creative ideas. Learn about the latest fashion trends, cultures, techniques and technologies and apply creative skills to design sustainable fashion.

Repeating textile patterns for fashion

This activity is all about designing and using repeating patterns within textile design. You can follow along to the 5-step video instructions and make your very own repeating pattern! To get started, all you’ll need is:

A4 piece of white paper
Pen or pencil to draw with
Ruler
Scissors
Tape - masking tape/sellotape/craft tape

In step 3, we look at a practical demonstration of rearranging and adding to your design.

In step 4, rearrange your design once more and add the last of your pattern.
