RAID Lab brings together practitioners and researchers to shape the future of responsible AI
The Responsible AI Decision (RAID) Lab for CORDA brought together experts from across government, the NHS, academia and industry on 15 April to look at an important topic - how can we make AI ethics work in practice?
A key focus was “continuous AI assurance” - looking at how organisations can move beyond broad principles and start building systems that are measurable.
The event is part of the Lab’s growing commitment to advancing responsible AI research and innovation, with a strong focus on practitioner insights and rigorous methodology for impactful research outcomes.
By bringing together both researchers and practitioners, the session created space for open, practical conversations about what responsible AI really looks like on the ground.
To support this, the RAID Lab is working with RAI Tracker, a tool designed to develop more robust ways of evaluating AI-driven decisions. The project is part of a PhD at the University of Portsmouth led by Rajeev Chakraborty, and aims to help organisations better understand and improve how AI is used in real-world settings.
