Charles Hervey - MSc Sports Performance
My everyday life is very busy, being at uni all day for lectures Thursday, going to placement on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, training with the athletics team on Tuesday and Thursday, going to the gym when I have free time, as well as doing work and socialising.
The unique thing about the course was the opportunity to go out on placement and gain new experiences and make an impact.
The University of Portsmouth has helped me take up opportunities and been there for me when I need assistance or have questions about something I’m unsure of.

The University of Portsmouth has helped me take up opportunities and been there for me when I need assistance or have questions about something I’m unsure of.
My main goal going forward is to work overseas in youth development, as well as coaching sport for the younger generation to help them get more involved.
3 things I’ve learnt at Portsmouth that will help me reach my goals are: plan effectively with time, do plenty of research, and contact the right people for help. The University of Portsmouth are here to help you, make sure you ask all of your questions so the University can answer them.
