Fully-funded Centre for Enzyme Innovation PhD projects

Apply for a funded PhD at our Centre for Enzyme Innovation, and help us find solutions to the existential threat of plastic pollution

These projects have now closed. The below is for information purposes only.

Applications are now open for 2 fully-funded SoCoBio PhD projects at our Centre for Enzyme Innovation (CEI) – for more information about the work we're doing, visit the CEI page.

We were recently awarded £5.8 million in funding by the Research England Expanding Excellence Fund, and coupled with significant investment by the University, we're transforming our knowledge and expertise into action, and delivering transformative enzyme-enabled solutions for the circular recycling of plastics.

We've also won a 2019 Times Higher Education Award for 'Best Research Project (STEM)' for our work on plastic-eating enzymes.
