I initially joined the Faculty of Business and Law as an hourly paid lecturer in February 2001, following several years' experience working in operations and marketing in the financial services industry. I was appointed as a senior lecturer in September 2007 and to my current role in October 2014.
As Director of Undergraduate Marketing Programmes, I am responsible for the undergraduate marketing curriculum. We have a number of undergraduate marketing units which are delivered to students both within the Faculty of Business and Law and across other faculties, but the majority of our marketing teaching is delivered to Marketing undergraduates. I am responsible for the structure, provision, content and delivery of our three undergraduate marketing degrees – BA Marketing, BA Marketing with Psychology and BA Digital Marketing. Together with my course team, my role is to ensure that in the time our Marketing students are with us, they receive the education and the training they need to become knowledgeable, skilful and employable graduates who are able to go out into the workplace and make a real difference to their organisation.
My research interests relate to Services marketing; specifically the concept of the servicescape and issues related to the provision of higher education as a service.
