The University of Portsmouth has signed a new international partnership with the Ivy Academic Network in Pakistan Islamabad, creating expanded opportunities for students in the country to access UK-standard higher education.
It will offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes across Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan, allowing students to pursue internationally recognised qualifications while remaining in Pakistan.
Roots IVY group is a prominent private educational provider in Pakistan approved by the Higher Education Commission, designed according to modern international standards.
The University of Portsmouth, a leading UK institution, holds a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework and is consistently ranked among the top 50 universities in the UK.
The partnership was signed during a ceremony hosted by the British High Commission in Islamabad this week.

Speaking at the event, Chris Chang, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement and Student Life) at the University of Portsmouth, said: “Through this collaboration, we aim to ensure students receive a rigorous, industry-relevant education that meets Portsmouth’s high international standards.”
Students who successfully complete the programmes will be awarded a University of Portsmouth qualification. As successful transnational education (TNE) graduates, individuals will embody the distinctive University of Portsmouth education - demonstrating academic excellence, global perspective, and professional readiness, while completing their studies in Pakistan.
Bobby Mehta, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement), University of Portsmouth, emphasised student support: “Our focus is on delivering an accessible, high-quality learning experience for students in Pakistan, with strong guidance, career development, and academic support.”
The launch was attended by senior representatives from government, academia, the diplomatic corps, and private-sector partners, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing higher education in Pakistan.
Her Excellency Ms. Jane Marriott CMG OBE, British High Commissioner to Pakistan, said: “This partnership demonstrates the strength of UK–Pakistan educational links. It will provide young people in Pakistan with access to world-class programmes and new opportunities to develop skills for the global economy.”
Neha Mudassir, CEO, Ivy Academic Network, reflected on the local impact: “This partnership brings world-class UK education directly to Pakistani students. It is a continuation of our mission to expand access, foster innovation, and provide transformative learning opportunities across the country.”
