Applications are invited for a self-funded, 3 year full-time or 6 year part-time PhD project.

The PhD will be based in the School of Computing and will be supervised by Dr Elisavet Andrikopoulou.

The work on this project could involve:

  • Develop a quality labeling system for mhealth and wellness applications specifications
  • Validate the results of the these techniques using real clinical case study
  • Assess the trustworthiness of these techniques

Context

Selecting a good healthcare application is hard. Good means very different things to many people. The project will try to develop and pilot a quality labeling system for healthcare and wellness applications based on their specifications and how these adhere to NICE guidelines.

A typical example of what we are proposing is an energy label system. However, the project aims to identify what the stakeholders deem as appropriate and the general feasibility and sustainability of a system like this.

Aspects of the project may include data quality assessment, evaluation of people’s needs and use of mixed methods to identify necessary requirements.

The candidate will work in collaboration with NICE and BCS.
