Our Estate Masterplan
We're investing £400m over 10 years
We're investing £400 million over 10 years into our campus in Portsmouth’s city centre to create world class facilities to enable innovation in learning, teaching and research.
Our Estate Masterplan is the most ambitious development project in our history. It includes constructing new landmark buildings, refurbishing existing facilities and creating new public spaces. The plan will support our strategy to deliver globally recognised research, become climate positive and create a vibrant experience for our communities.
The work has already begun. We've completed our impressive Sports Centre, we're finalising the design on our new landmark academic building and starting work on our new Student Hub.

Estate Masterplan
We've set targets for our new buildings to achieve BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ ratings for sustainable design and ‘A’ Display Energy Certification – the most efficient rating for energy use in buildings. BREEAM is a long-established world-leading rating system for certifying the sustainability of buildings. Our newly built buildings are fossil-fuel free, minimising their carbon footprint over time.
