Cristina changed her mind about which university she wanted to go to. After falling in love with Portsmouth, she applied through Clearing so that she could study the course she always wanted to in a city she felt right at home in.

I’m studying the course now that I originally wanted to study at university. I had already selected my choices and applied somewhere else but then I went to an offer holder event at Portsmouth with my friend. They were doing the same course as me and had been offered a place here. After experiencing what Portsmouth had to offer, everything changed. 

I really liked Portsmouth. I loved that it was a city based university as it reminded me more of home. Visiting Portsmouth with my friend showed me how great it would be to move here. Also, being with them made the idea of moving to a new city a lot less scary and removed some of my anxiety. It was too late for me to change my original choice, but I really wanted to study at Portsmouth. That's why I decided that I would apply through Clearing.

My experience of going through Clearing was really good, quick, and easy. Before calling the Clearing hotline, I was so worried that no places would be left on the course that I wanted to do. But the staff were great and they really put my mind at ease. The process was made even easier by completing an online form first. It made me feel less stressed and took anxiety away from speaking to someone on the phone. I was so happy when I got an offer to study on the course I wanted at Portsmouth.

My advice to others is not to worry because the Clearing process is a lot easier than you might think. Within a day I had everything sorted out — from applying, to getting a place.
