If you're a trustee of a charity, social enterprise or community interest group in Hampshire needing help with your accounting, our pro-bono accounting clinic can help get your finances in order.
We can help with accounting issues such as independent examinations and annual reviews of internal controls. We can also provide finance training for your trustees.
We organise drop-in clinics in collaboration with HIVE Portsmouth, that run on the last Wednesday of every month 1.00–4.00pm in the Portsmouth Central Library.
We also offer bookable clinics that can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. A team of our students will meet you at the charity, accompanied by their tutor, to discuss your requirements. Students will work on the project remotely and can visit you at the charity to gather more information if needs be. You will be given a written report at the end of the project. This report will either highlight the strengths of your internal controls and recommend improvements or will be an internal examiner's report.
The work is expected to be carried out between September and January each year.
All the clinics are led by our second and final year Accounting and Finance students. They will be supervised by a qualified accountant who is a specialist in charity audits.
