Accounting clinic

Our accounting clinic offers pro bono assistance to get your charity, social enterprise or community group's finances in order.

If you're a trustee of a charity, social enterprise or community interest group in Hampshire needing help with your accounting, our pro-bono accounting clinic can help get your finances in order. We're also able to support students, alumni and owners of local micro-businesses.

We can help with accounting issues such as independent examinations and annual reviews of internal controls. We can also provide finance training for your trustees.

Our clinics offer a choice of drop-in or bookable slots that can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. A team of our students will meet you, accompanied by their tutor, to discuss your requirements. Students will work on the project remotely and can visit you at your offices to gather more information if needed. You will be given a written report at the end of the project. This report will either highlight the strengths of your internal controls and recommend improvements or will be an internal examiner's report.

The work is expected to be carried out between October and January each year. Please note, that the clinics do not run over the summer period.

All the clinics are led by our second and final-year Accounting and Finance students and supervised by qualified accountants, including those who are specialists in charity audits.
