An influential and innovative voice in business, honoured for services to the economy and women. 

Dame Vivian Hunt is the Chief Innovation Officer at UnitedHealth Group. She works with their technology, growth and strategy teams to pursue new technologies, improve process design, interpret data, apply insights and improve the productivity of their systems.

Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Dame Vivian was a Senior Partner for McKinsey & Company, UK and Ireland. There, she provided strategic advice to leading firms in the private, public and third sectors, with a particular focus on strategy, innovation and performance transformation. Dame Vivian also served as Managing Partner for the UK and Ireland from 2013-2020. Prior to that, she led the firm’s EMEA Life Sciences practice.

Dame Vivian is on the board of several influential business groups, and charitable and education bodies. Her positions include Chair of Teach First (the UK’s leading education charity) and Chair of the Black Equity Organisation (the UK’s first national Black civil rights organisation). She is also on the Harvard Board of Overseers, a Trustee of The British Museum, and sits on the governing board of the Southbank Centre and the US-UK Fulbright Commission. 

Dame Vivian was named ‘most influential black woman in Britain’ by the Powerlist Foundation. The Financial Times identified her as one of the 30 most influential people in the City of London. 

In 2018, she was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to the economy and women in business. In 2022, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Strategic Management Society.
