A distinguished engineer who has worked in communications technology for major organisations. 

Having graduated from Imperial College London in 1986, Naomi Climer joined the BBC as a maintenance engineer in 1987. There, she rose through the ranks to become Controller of Technology at BBC News.

In 2002, Naomi joined Sony Professional Solutions. She ran Sony’s B2B business across Europe before becoming President of Sony Media Cloud Services based in Los Angeles.

Today, Naomi focuses on the role technology will play in the future. She advocates for technology as a force for positive change.

She is Co-Chair of the Institute for the Future of Work (IFOW). Connecting government, industry and civil society, IFOW strives to shape a fairer future through better work.

Naomi also has a portfolio of Non Executive Directorships and is a Past President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). She is a Fellow of both the IET and the Royal Academy of Engineering. 

In 2018, Naomi was awarded a CBE for services to the engineering profession.
