Overview

Become a more effective manager, and a consistent and confident leader in your workplace.

This PgDip Senior Leader apprenticeship equips you with the skills and knowledge to be an informed and impactful manager, and prepares you to apply your understanding to everyday behaviours in your career. 

Before this course, you'll typically be a mid-level or senior manager who monitors and manages the core business and management goals of your organisation. 

After this PgDip course, students may choose to continue their apprenticeship studies with our MBA Senior Leadership (Top-Up)

Entry requirements

September 2025 / January 2025 / May 2025 start

  • A second-class honours degree or equivalent, including professional qualifications, not necessarily in a business related subject, plus at least 3 years of work experience at a professional or managerial level. Alternatively, applicants without formal qualifications, but with a minimum of 5 years of management experience, are welcome to apply.

  • All applicants to the Senior Leader Apprenticeship course must have an acceptable Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics. Acceptable qualifications include GCSE with grade C/4 or above and Functional Skills with Pass. Please note that we are not able to accept all kinds of Level 2 qualifications, so if you are unsure whether you have a suitable qualification, please get in touch. If you do not have an acceptable qualification you may be required to take an additional assessment during the application process.

Please get in touch if you're not sure if your undergraduate subject is relevant to this degree.

Equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications will also be considered, such as previous study, employment, voluntary work and training courses, including courses and qualifications you didn't complete. Learn more about our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Once we receive your application, we may ask you for further information. We will then either make you an offer or suggest alternatives if your application is unsuccessful.

You'll usually get a decision within 10 working days, so you shouldn't have to wait too long. Some courses have an interview stage – we'll let you know if you need to prepare for one.
