Coronavirus information for students
Things will be a little different in 2020/21. We've put new safety measures in place across campus and have plenty of guidance on how to stay safe and what to do if you or someone you live with comes into contact with coronavirus.
See our coronavirus information for students to find out what to expect when you get here.
Once you've finished applying for a postgraduate course, our admissions team will assess your application.
You'll usually get a decision within 10 working days, so you shouldn't have to wait too long. Some courses have an interview stage – we'll let you know if you need to prepare for one.
There's plenty you can do to prepare for your studies between submitting your postgraduate application and receiving our decision. Here are a few important things to think about.
Your postgraduate finance
Get the ball rolling early – plan how much it's going to cost and what you need to budget for, find out how to apply for our Master's Scholarship and explore other funding options.
Your accommodation
Once we've accepted your application, we'll send you the information you need to arrange your accommodation – in the meantime, explore our halls of residence and find out about private renting in the city.
Withdrawing your application
If you'd like to withdraw your application, email admissions@port.ac.uk with your name and the course you applied for, and they can withdraw you.
Course suspensions and closures
Occasionally, we have to suspend or close a course. If a course you’ve applied for doesn’t run, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and help you choose an alternative course.
Feedback and appeals
To get feedback on an unsuccessful application, email feedback@port.ac.uk with your name and the course you applied for. We’ll get back to you within 5 working days.
