Timescales
Our main careers fairs take place from October to December, with other activities scheduled throughout the academic year.
Best suited to
Employers who are looking to build their profile, connect with students and recruit future talent.
What's involved
Throughout the year, there are a range of opportunities to meet and engage with our students on campus.
Meeting students where they study and socialise can help you build awareness of your organisation, showcase your opportunities and develop relationships with future talent.
Our programme includes popular events such as our flagship Careers and Placement Fair, which attracts around 2,000 students each autumn, as well as sector-specific fairs offering more targeted engagement with particular academic disciplines.
We can also work with you to develop an activity that meets your objectives. Options include:
- Pop Up Stands. Meet students in a high footfall area, raise your profile and promote your organisation, roles and opportunities.
- Career Readiness Experience Days. Take part in short mock interviews and help students develop their employability skills while introducing them to your organisation.
- Industry Insights. Connect with academic teams and student societies to explore opportunities including projects, case studies, guest lectures and employer visits.
- Skills Session. Share your expertise and give students practical insight into recruitment, careers and the skills employers value.
Whether you want to reach a broad student audience or engage with students from a particular discipline, we can help you identify an approach that fits your recruitment and engagement objectives.
How it works
1. Talk to Us
Tell us what you want to achieve and the students or disciplines you would like to reach. We can discuss the available opportunities and help identify the most appropriate approach.
2. Agree the Activity
We’ll work with you to develop a tailored solution, agreeing the activity, location, date and any associated costs.
3. We’ll support you
A member of the team will keep you updated throughout the planning process, provide the relevant logistical information and be available on the day to help ensure everything runs smoothly.
Case study
"Working with Careers and Employability allows us to raise awareness of the IBM brand, whilst helping students develop their employability skills and gaining a closer insight into a particular job or sector. As a result, we recruit students into placement and graduate roles."
