Best suited to
Employers who want candidates screened and matched to the vacancy rather than sifting through applications via a jobs board. Employers who want an efficient way to access a shortlist of the type of graduates they want to hire.
What's involved
An increasing number of our graduates hope to work for organisations local to the University, so you are recruiting from people who want to stay in the area.
Our in-house Early Careers Recruitment Consultants will listen to your brief, source and pre-screen candidates, taking time to understand the skills and qualities a graduate needs to succeed in your organisation.
They will work with you through the recruitment process, from developing your job description, briefing candidates for interview, and making a successful offer. The process is fast and efficient – so you can concentrate on running your organisation.
Benefits of working with our Early Careers Recruitment Consultants:
- You'll get personalised service from consultants with industry expertise, who know the local labour market and our graduates.
- Your consultant will guide you in the use of traditional and creative advertising, making sure your vacancy reaches the right candidates.
- You'll receive support and guidance when pre-screening and collecting graduate applications and CVs.
- Your consultant will help you manage your interviews.
- If required, you'll get free use of our facilities for holding interviews.
- You'll get help to negotiate a candidate's job offer.
- Our staff aren’t on commission; they are tasked with placing our graduates with great employers in graduate-level roles. Any fee is reinvested in the student experience rather than taken as profit.
What the consultants do
Pre-screening
They source and contact graduates, screen applications and put a shortlist together for you.
Interviews
They arrange interviews and guide the process.
Offers
They help you negotiate the offer.
Profile
You may also receive invitations to recruitment fairs, skills sessions, presentations and other on campus activity to promote your organisation and help you build your early talent pipeline for future recruitment.
How it works
1. Tell us the role
A consultant will listen to what you’re looking for, gain details of your interview process, agree a timescale to work to and promote your role to either our final year students or graduates of up to 5 years. They will also share what they are currently seeing in the graduate labour market.
2. We find candidates
We advise you on how we can help, the skills and experience our graduates are likely to have, and discuss any technical, creative, or language skills you are looking for from them to be successful in the role. We source candidates from our final year cohorts if relevant or our alumni candidate database.
3. Interviews
We arrange them. You run them, and you can even host your first interviews on campus, where we provide you with candidate feedback straight after the interviews, ensuring an efficient and effective process.
4. Offer
We help you negotiate it so that you know that both you and the graduate are happy with the offer. Our 5% fee is only payable upon the graduate starting for private sector organisations. There is no charge for non-profit organisations.
Case study
By engaging closely with the university, we are able to recruit talented graduates, well-prepared for the demands of our sector.
This relationship benefits the company by providing skilled new talent, but also reinforces the university’s reputation for producing industry-ready graduates."
Sean Scott, Head of HR, STS Defence
