What's involved

Register your organisation on our free, self managed, MyCareer and post your vacancies. Students see them and apply to you directly — we don’t sit in the middle.

Many of our students work part-time alongside their degrees, in customer service, retail, hospitality, marketing, reception, care and support, sport, youth work and administration.

You can advertise:

  • Part-time roles
  • Seasonal and vacation work
  • Placement opportunities
  • Graduate vacancies

Our friendly jobs board team is available to support all employers with any queries, [email protected]

How it works

1. Register your organisation

Create an employer account on MyCareer. You control the details.

2. Post your vacancy

Give clear, full details.

3. Students apply to you

Applications come direct. Retract the advert when the role is filled.

All jobs posted are reviewed by the team before they are published to the student and graduate community.

Case study

I have been connecting with University of Portsmouth students via the Jobs Board for the past seven years, and it is a pleasure to work with such excellent students who put so much effort and enthusiasm into running our clubs.

The Jobs Board team is incredibly helpful, and I feel lucky to have this opportunity to recruit fantastic team members who bring their own experiences into the role.

It is a privilege to be able to help students gain experience towards their future career aspirations, and to get to know each of them while we are working together."

Before you enquire

  • We only advertise paid roles that comply with minimum wage and equal opportunities legislation. Unpaid vacancies, commission-only and cash-in-hand roles are not accepted.
  • We also don’t accept: roles from private individuals, door-to-door sales, brand ambassador roles promoting consumer goods, apprenticeships below Level 7, opportunities requiring any upfront payment from students, agency vacancies that don’t name the client, or employers without a full company name, corresponding email address and website.
  • Unpaid industrial placements of nine to twelve months must be approved by the Optional Placements Team before they can be advertised.
  • We recommend students work no more than 20 hours a week during term time.
  • International students on a Student visa can’t take permanent full-time roles, self-employment, or work as a professional sportsperson or entertainer. They’ll show you a shared code and evidence of student status for your right to work check.
  • We reserve the right to refuse, withdraw or cancel an employer registration or vacancy without giving reason.
