Coworking and Private Offices

Our experience with Innovation Connect has been really great. The staff have been super accommodating. We love the space. We wanted to have a space that was comfortable to work with this one is really comfortable. Innovation Connect is open for all businesses. So it's a great mix of staff, students, other university startups and local businesses all working together in the same spaces. A place that has everything that you actually need for work. There are a lot of meeting rooms, so that's really helpful because often we have to take calls and we don't want background noise and we want a professional setting. Places for recording if you sometimes need to do videos. Podcast room absolutely fantastic because the sound quality that I can get into my pods is brilliant. We've got sites over at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Cell Block Studios, we've got a site at Halpern House in the middle of the city centre and we've also got the Future Technology Centre which is what we're in today. Co-working space is an open space we have in Halpern House. The idea is to have that really kind of rich tapestry within the building here of different skills and different levels of business. I think it's got a really nice community vibe to it. We have like a pizza event where everyone gets together. For anyone who's working from home, it's nicer to go somewhere and to meet other people even if you are working individually. We've got people with different backgrounds, abilities. Maybe somebody else would ask you, oh what are you working on? And they would recommend a tool that actually proved useful for what we were doing. So the collaboration really happens. What Innovation Connect can give to a business is great connection to the academic staff base at the University of Portsmouth. We've got members of staff that work in logistics, work in image creation, marketing, AI, computer science. You can use other university facilities. For instance, you can use the library. All the business support and advice we give through Barclays Eagle Lab. So Eagle Labs have partnered with the University of Portsmouth very much as a partner for growth and that ranges from programmes of support through to our Investor Connectivity platform. There are so many reasons to get involved with a community that has such strong links with the city, with the community, with Barclays, with the university. Just in general it makes the working day more pleasurable. And you know what? You get your work done.
