UCAS Extra is open from 23 February to 4 July 2023
If you’ve already applied through UCAS you may be able to use UCAS Extra to add additional applications.
UCAS Extra is useful if you've changed your mind since you submitted your UCAS application, you didn't get the offers you want, or you want to add another application.
How does UCAS Extra work
Whether you're a UK, EU or international student, there are two sets of circumstances that mean you can use UCAS Extra.
1. You didn't use all your five choices
If you submitted your applications through UCAS but you did not use up all your five choices you can add more choices one at a time.
You can do this if:
- you've not accepted any offers or been declined by your original choices
- you accepted an offer, but are then made unsuccessful by the university before 30 June
2. You've used up all five of your choices
If you submitted your applications through UCAS and you used up all five of your choices you can add more choices one at a time IF:
- you've received decisions from all five course providers you applied to
- you're not holding any offers (either you weren't accepted, or you decided to decline any offers you received)
UCAS Extra is open from 23 February to 4 July 2023. All applications must be made by 30 June.
If UCAS Extra is available to you it will show as an option when you log in to your UCAS Hub account after 23 February. Unless you paid the reduced UCAS fee originally (because you only applied to a single course) UCAS Extra is free to use.
When you apply through UCAS, universities and colleges don't have to give you a decision until 13 July. When you apply to us through UCAS Extra, we'll aim to contact you with an update on your application within 2 working days, so you know where you stand early on.
Some of our courses fill up before UCAS Extra begins. But, like most universities, we still have spaces on many of our courses so it's definitely worth applying. Please note that you can only apply for 1 course at a time with UCAS Extra.

You can use our direct application form if you are applying to study an undergraduate course part-time.
