Peter Aldred

Peter leads our work in corporate governance and oversees the governance processes of the University and its subsidiary companies. He is also responsible for student complaints, risk management and business continuity, information governance, internal audit, insurance and all legal and contracting services.

Peter studied Law at Cambridge, qualifying as a commercial solicitor in private practice before moving into the Higher Education sector. Over the last 12 years, he has acted as legal adviser to the University of Nottingham, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and the University of Chichester before joining Portsmouth in May 2023.
