Everything you need to know, whatever stage you're at in your application, is at Uni Week Live. And it's all virtual.

Join the online sessions through the week to help you prepare and get a taste of undergrad life, wherever you are.

Find the answers to your questions. Go at your own pace and pick the topics you like. This is your flexible guide to university.

At Uni Week Live, you'll:

  • Learn how to make important decisions like choosing a degree and a university
  • Discover all the facts and figures related to student finance
  • Join specific talks for year 12 and year 13
  • Speak with our current students, and ask them your questions on student life, accommodation and anything else
  • Get information on subject specific courses and explore the careers available across these subject areas
  • Be able to invite your parents or guardians – there are useful evening information sessions just for them if they'd like to tune in

Here's what's coming up and when. Once you sign up, we'll send you details on how to access the sessions before the event starts. Some talks are on at the same time, but don't worry – you'll get access to recordings and other useful info if you miss them.

Day 1 – Wednesday 18 November

Welcome to Uni Week Live! Get an intro to the event and learn how to make the most of each session.

Time: Ongoing availability from 11.30am-5.00pm on 18-27 November.

Going to an online education fair or open day? Make that experience work for you and learn how to prepare for virtual fairs and open days.

Time: 12.00-1.00pm

Start making the right choices for you. Get tips on key things to research and how to explore courses and universities.

Time: 1.00-2.00pm

Technology underpins all facets of modern life and evolves at relentless speeds. Find out more about the teaching and research activities taking place within our Faculty of Technology and learn how to kick-start your career in engineering, building, surveying and property development, product design, computing and maths and physics.

Time: 1.00-2.00pm

The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) offers a wide range of courses in the creative arts, media and technologies. We'll introduce you to these courses, careers opportunities and portfolios.

Courses include architecture, drama, music, performing arts, creative writing, fashion, photography, graphic arts and design, film and television, games, animation and digital technologies.

Time: 1.00-2.00pm

Gain the expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to influence local and global economies. Make lasting positive impacts on legal systems, societies and the lives of individuals. That’s where a degree in business, law and finance could take you. Join this talk to discover the wide choice of business and law degree programmes that you could study.

Time: 2.00-3.00pm

In this session, the Faculty of Science and Health give you information and tips on applying to NHS courses. This includes how to write a good healthcare personal statement for your UCAS application and the importance of work experience.

Time: 2.00-3.00pm

Explore the fascinating worlds of criminology, cybercrime and forensics, childhood, youth studies and education, languages and history, politics and international relations. Open your eyes into the different career opportunities, the different courses and come ask your questions. 

Time: 4.00-5.00pm

Ready to hear from someone like you? This session is your chance to ask our current students about student life, budgeting, accommodation, the city of Portsmouth, moving away from home – or whatever you want to know about uni. The floor is yours.

Time: 6.45-7.30pm

Get to grips with the facts and figures. For parents and guardians: this 45 minute session will help you learn about the costs of university, including when payments happen and what support is available.

Day 2 – Thursday 19 November

Join our student finance experts to find out what funding is available, if you're eligible, how to apply and how any loan is repaid.

There's plenty to think about when you start university – and preparing properly for such a big moment in your life can make all the difference. Find out what it’s like to live in halls, how to settle into life at uni and hear from a current student who'll share their real life experiences with you. 

Time: 3.00-4.00pm

Ready to hear from someone like you? This session is your chance to ask our current students about student life, budgeting, accommodation, the city of Portsmouth, moving away from home – or whatever you want to know about uni. The floor is yours.

Time: 6.45-7.30pm

Going to university is a big moment in a young person's life. There's lots to know – the key is to make sure everyone is prepared for all the steps.

This parent and guardian session will give you an introduction to university. We'll explore how to support a young person through the application process, including understanding what's involved, the benefits of going, how and when to apply and writing a personal statement.
