Building Regulations 2020 Short Course

Overview

The Construction Industry is in a period of significant change. A significant part of the focus of that change is on the legislation relating to the industry. Since the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017 the Government have been focused on changing the legislation to ensure it is more robust around building safety.

This course will review the recent changes made to Building Regulations in the first steps to a more robust legislative regime. The course will also look forward to the proposed changes detailed in the Draft Building Safety Bill recently published with the Governments aim to deliver the biggest changes to building safety in nearly 40 years.

Teaching

You'll be taught by Owen Edwards, MRICS, C.BuildE, MCABE and Technical Training Director at Butler & Young Approved Inspectors Ltd.

Owen Edwards has worked in the Building Control profession for over 30 years, where his expertise has been developed across the whole range of projects types including shopping centres, industrial warehouses, office complexes, education buildings and retail accommodation.

Owen’s current role involves being the technical and training liaison across the company, which involves providing CPD training, technical guidance and interpretation and mentoring of trainees.
