Explore our facilities
As a Technology student, you'll have access to amazing facilities – discover some of our teaching, learning, lab, studio and production spaces.
Advanced Composite Materials and Manufacturing Laboratory
The Advanced Composite Materials & Manufacturing Lab is at the centre of our research & development into the design, creation & testing of greener materials.
Hydraulics Laboratory
The Hydraulics Laboratory helps civil engineering students investigate all aspects of open channel flow; from flow over weirs to hydraulic jumps.
System Administration and Networking Suite
Our System Administration and Networking Suite provides an environment for large-scale network simulation experiments.
Quantum Optics Laboratory
Study the details of quantum theory, mechanics and optics, and conduct research experiments such as using quantum interference to measure distance. The lab hosts more than 30 microscopes and lasers, as well as a Mini Vibrating-sample Magnetometer (VSM) used to shake material samples and measure their reactive movement to identify specific magnetic properties.

Bloomberg suite
Access data from the world's global financial markets and gain experience using industry standard software.

Future Technology Centre
The Future Technology Centre offers students, researchers and partners a collaborative, hands-on learning environment with open spaces to run experiments, debate and explore ideas.
Thermofluids Laboratory
Home to the Formula Student team, the Thermofluids Laboratory is where we study renewable energy, fluid mechanics, heat transfer & thermodynamics.
Geotechnics Laboratory
Our Geotechnics Laboratory – or Soils Lab – has equipment for analysing fine- and coarse-grained soils.

SCIAMA Supercomputer
Find out how the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation's SCIAMA Supercomputer is helping answer questions about the origins of the universe, and much more.
Telecommunications and Control Laboratory
Explore how to transmit radio waves, build circuit boards and analyse high-frequency signals at our Telecommunications Laboratories.
