Graphic Design is an exciting and essential part of every creative industry and our students have brought their creative ideas to life using a mix of traditional and digital media.

Some of the work in our showcase has received awards by the International Society of Typographic Designers (iSTD), Design and Art Direction pencil (D&AD) and The Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), Creative Champion at the South West Design and Digital Student Awards (SWDDSA), Creative Conscience Award Winners (CC), and the You Can Now awards (YCN)

In this showcase, our students have used the latest tools and software to create professional-quality work that turns heads and inspires action. Students on our courses go on to work in magazine design publishing, UX design, branding and design agencies, art direction and advertising, website design, and work in the television and film industries.

Congratulations to the Graphic Design Class of 2021.

Emma Brookes - Spotify Moments

Music plays a prominent role in our everyday life. Whether it is for enjoyment or distraction, we listen to music from early in the morning until late at night. Music has also been identified as playing a key role in the construction of autobiographical memories.

Through harnessing this connection between music and memory, Spotify Moments provides users with a personalised archive of music moments, enabling them to relive their favourite memories through song. Users can add comments, images, and even friends to their moment, creating a truly unique social and personal experience. The scanning feature also enables users to directly add themselves to an existing moment for big events, for instance festivals.

Emily Chivers - Utopia Now! Book

A book exploring the concept of utopia, framed by the American counterculture and the rise of machines. In this publication, I explored the relationship between humans, machines, and nature, and how the first image of earth fuelled the desire for change.

Catarina Mestre - How to structure your life

For my Major Project, I wanted to focus on a timely issue that deeply interested me and I was able to relate to. This made me reflect on my current life circumstances, which eventually led me to the topic of Routines and Habits.

An animation was created to provide guidance and generate self-reflection on this, helping young people establish a better balance between life activities. The video uses fun and lively visuals to motivate people and make them expand on what they want and need, instead of  providing How-tos for a routine, incentivising small changes for better results.
