HR professional and owner of Mitch's Kitchen

I am very honoured to work with the University of Portsmouth and join the Entrepreneurs in Residence Programme. I cannot wait to support enterprising students, helping to create greater access opportunities and develop the next generation of business leaders.

Shirin Lee, Owner of Mitch's Kitchen

Shirin is the passionate and driven co-founder and director of Mitch's Kitchen, an environmentally conscious food brand on a mission to challenge the way we view plant based eating.

Shirin developed her business acumen working for the UK’s largest independent telecoms company for over 5 years. Her role within the centralised HR department as a recruitment executive saw her lead the internal recruitment for the organisation, which has £100m turnover.  During her time with the company, she managed the recruitment budget and reduced employee turnover by over 20% through succession planning, line-manager training and organisational design and development. She reported to key stakeholders and board members.

Shirin adopted a vegan lifestyle in 2015 (alongside a gluten-free diet of over 10 years). She's passionate about developing health-focussed, nutritious foods that fuel our bodies for the ultimate performance and mental clarity.

Prior to her career in the business world, Shirin worked as a professional singer, songwriter and production artist. She toured across Asia and the US, working for brands such as the Hard Rock Cafe. She continues to write music for TV placements on shows such as: MTV's 'Ex On The Beach' and 'Britain's Next Top Model'.
