Promoter
The Promoter is University of Portsmouth whose registered office is at Mercantile House, Hampshire Terrace, Portsmouth, PO1 2EG.
Eligibility
The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom, including entrants under the age of 18, except employees of the University of Portsmouth, including any third parties and their close relatives, and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
Entrants under the age of 18 confirm that they have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to enter the competition. The University of Portsmouth reserves the right to request proof of such consent prior to awarding the prize.
By entering this competition, an entrant indicates their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Route to entry
To enter the competition, entrants must:
- Play the designated game and post a score, providing a valid email address; and
- Book a place to attend one of the three Open Experience Day events; and
- Attend the booked Open Experience Day event and complete event check-in on the day.
Check-in must be completed at one of the designated buildings on campus using the QR code provided in the booking confirmation email. Only entrants who have completed all stages of entry will be eligible for the prize draw.
Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries, including entries submitted using multiple email addresses or bookings, may be disqualified at the University of Portsmouth’s discretion.
Reasonable adjustments will be made for entrants who require an alternative method of check-in or participation due to accessibility needs. Entrants are encouraged to contact the University of Portsmouth in advance of the event where possible.
Closing date for entry
Open Experience Day competition: 11.59pm on Friday 27 February 2026.
After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
The University of Portsmouth accepts no responsibility for entries not received, incomplete entries, or failure to complete check-in due to technical issues, network failures, system errors, or any other circumstances beyond the University of Portsmouth’s reasonable control.
Rules of the competition
Entrants must successfully complete the game, post a score, provide a valid email address, book an Open Experience Day event, and check in to the booked event using the QR code on the day of attendance to be eligible for the prize draw. Failure to complete any part of the entry process will result in disqualification.
Game scores do not affect the chances of winning. The prize will be awarded by random draw from all valid entries that have completed all stages of the entry process.
The University of Portsmouth reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Any changes will be communicated to entrants as soon as reasonably practicable.
The prize
The prize is one £50 Amazon gift card.
The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable and is subject to availability. The University of Portsmouth reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equivalent value.
Winner selection
One winner will be chosen at random by software from all valid entries received and verified by the University of Portsmouth and/or its agents.
The winner will be drawn after the final Open Experience Day, which takes place on 26 April 2026.
The winner will be notified by Friday 8th May via the email address used to enter. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within seven days of notification, the University of Portsmouth reserves the right to withdraw the prize and select a replacement winner.
The University of Portsmouth will notify the winner when and how the prize will be delivered.
The University of Portsmouth’s decision in respect of all matters relating to the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Legal
The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
