1. Who we are and what we do

This class contains information on how ASTA was set up, including its legal status and contact details.

Roles and responsibilities

ASTA is a limited company, which is a fully owned subsidiary of the University of Portsmouth.

ASTA was formed in 2008 and acquired by the University in 2016. It's the only provider of accredited European Space Agency (ESA) training in the UK, and 1 of 7 in Europe. ASTA has 1.6 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff. The ASTA board meets twice a year.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Portsmouth, ASTA Board members are taken from University staff. They are:

This class contains information from the last 3 years relating to ASTA's strategies and plans, performance indicators, audits, inspections and reviews.

4. How we make decisions

This class contains information on how the organisation makes decisions.

Paper copies of the minutes of ASTA Board Meetings and of the Resolutions of the Board as submitted to Companies House are available from the ASTA Company Secretary (claire.dunning@port.ac.uk).

These minutes won't include any confidential items of business.

5. Our policies and procedures

This class contains details of written protocols, policies and procedures for delivering ASTA services and responsibilities.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Portsmouth, ASTA is bound by University policies on matters such as complaints management, data protection and records management.

6. Lists and registers

This class contains details of the information ASTA is legally required to hold in publicly available registers.

This class contains details of services offered by ASTA, including leaflets, guidance and newsletters. This is an extension of the first class.
